La serata di gala in
occasione del 25° anniversario del Fogolār Furlan é stata indubbiamente un
grande successo. Il salone magnificamente decorato con bandiere, drappi e
fiori dappertutto. Quā e lā dei drappi color celeste o dorati, con un
sottofondo bianco, tutto arredato con gusto e maestria.
Un mio sincero grazie
all'infaticabile comitato i cui membri con talento hanno lavorato per mesi
per far sė che la serata fosse un successo, a volte persino andando incontro
a spese, pagando di tasca loro.
Medaglie e
certificati, sono stati presentati al nostro console il dottor Alberto
Vecchi, a tutte le persone che dal lontano 1981, anno di fondazione del
Fogolār Furlan, hanno servito come presidenti: Angelo Schincariol, Arturo
Celotti (RIP), Giuseppe Picotti, Stefano Rigotti, Adriano Schincariol e
Alberto Talotti.
Un grazie vada a voi,
cari membri ed amici del Fogolār, per il supporto che ci avete dato per
questa festa. Speriamo che questo supporto continuerā in modo che tutte le
feste che si terranno in futuro avranno un grande successo.
Festa di Natale
In programma rimane
sempre ciō che abbiamo annunciato nella nostra ultima circolare. Questo
evento verrā tenuto al Club Aeronautico di Stellenbosch la domenica 3
dicembre, dove avremo una grigliata e potremo andare a raccogliere fragole
alla vicina fattoria Zettler. Per i bambini, Babbo Natale arriverā in
aeroplano e abbiamo in programma un 'Jumping Castle' ed altri giochi
tradizionali per il loro divertimento.
Portate con voi
ombrelloni, sedie, piatti, posate, contenitori per le fragole, vino
eccetera. Chiunque volesse fare uso del bar del club, sarā benvenuto per
consumare bevande al bar stesso, o comperarle e portarsele fuori.
Per pranzo avremo
salsiccia, pollo e costolette di agnello, con insalata di patate ed insalata
verde. Il prezzo sarā di R.70.00 per gli adulti e di R. 40.00 per i bambini
sotto gli anni 12 di etā. I bambini riceverano un dono da Babbo Natale.
Babbo Natale ha bisogno di sapere l'etā ed il nome dei bambini, quindi
quando prenoterete per la scampagnata, date anche le informazioni
sopraelencate.
Arrivate presto, in
modo che potrete andare a raccogliere le fragole nella vicina fattoria prima
dell'ora di pranzo.
A mezzogiorno circa
Babbo Natale arriverā con il suo aeroplano, quindi cercate di essere lā a
dargli il benvenuto, dopodichč sarā servito il pranzo.

membri del comitato incaricati di organizzare la festa, vi sarei grato se
poteste telefonare a Rosanna, 021 6863437 oppure 083 6314926, per farle
sapere in quanti parteciperete. Se qualcuno di voi avesse bisogno di
trasporto, fatecelo sapere e noi organizzeremo.

In una nota personale,
le nostre condoglianze vadano a Luigi e Mary Nassimbeni e famiglia per la
perdita della mamma, Ines, avvenuta il 23 ottobre.

vadano anche a Vic e Barbara Colussi e famiglia per la perdita della mamma
di Barbara, la signora Eileen Wileman.
Tanti auguri per una
pronta guarigione alla signora Rigutto in seguito ad una operazione.

25th
Anniversary Celebration
It goes
without saying that the 25th Anniversary function was an unbridled success.
The hall was magnificently decorated with flags, banners and flowers, with
here and there a flash of blue and gold with a white background - all so
tasteful.
My
sincere thanks to our talented committee who bave been planning this
for months, and also the time that they unstintingly spent on this event,
even in some cases at their own expense.
Medals
and certificates were presented to our Consul, Alberto Vecchi, and
also to the past presidents of the Fogolār Furlan - Angelo
Schincariol, Arturo Celotti (RIP), Giuseppe Picotti, Stefano Rigotti,
Adriano Schincariol and Alberto Talotti.
Our
thanks go out to you, the members and friends, for the support
given to this function. We trust that this support will continue so
that all our future functions will equal this kind o success.
Christmas Function
This is
stilI going to plan as advised in our last Newsletter. This event
will be held at Stellenbosch Airfield on Sunday, 3 December, where we will
have a braai and strawberry picking at Zetler nearby. For the children,
Babbo Natale will arrive by aeroplane and we have planned a jumping castle
and lots of traditional games for all to enjoy.
How to
get there:
Turn left on N2 Exit 33 - Baden Powell (8km); at the Caltex Garage turn
right into Annandale Road (4.7km) to R44; at traffic lights turn left
towards Stellenbosch (1 km after traffic lights); turn left at 'La
Pineta' Restaurant, carry on straight down to Stellenbosch Flying
Club (about 1 km).
Bring
umbrellas, chairs, tables, plates, glasses, cutlery, etc. Bar facilities
will be available at the club house. Don't forget containers for
strawberries, which cost R19.00 per kilo.
For lunch
we will have sausage, chicken and lamb chops with a green salad and potato
salad. The cost will be R70 for adults and R40 for children aged 12 and
younger. (Non-members are asked to pay an extra R40 to cover the cost of
gifts for their children). Babbo Natale needs to know the names and ages of
children attending, so please let Rosanna know when you make your booking.
Babbo
Natale will be arriving at about 12 midday, and lunch will follow. Try to be
there by
midday to
welcome him in his aeroplane! Hope to see you all there.

29 November. Also, we will be arranging lifts, so please let Rosanna know if
you need transport - don't be shy!
On a
personal note, our condolences go out to Luigi and Mary Nassimbeni and their
family on the death of Luigis mother, Ines, on 23 October.

wishes to Signora Rigutto for a speedy recovery following her operation.
