JUVENTUS 0 BLACK XI 0
A hard and fair game was played at Crusaders on Tuesday night. Goalkeeper Jarryd Leach made couple of good reflex saves, and the back four were well disciplined throughout the match. Russell Bosch, Dean Bleadsdale, Chris Napier and Gareth Arnold were solid in defence and there was no way through for Black XI. Mxolisi Malevu went closest for the visitors and Wonder Hlophe could have sealed all 3 points for Juventus late in the match with a couple of clear chances. In the end it was a valuable point gained.
FA CUP
On Saturday at Tills Crescent, we were hardly recognizable as the same team that played on Tuesday night. We were shocked by an early goal by our Division One opponents, Ocean Pirates. We squandered chance after chance to equalize against the lower league opponents, and we changed ends losing 1-0. In the second half we continued to press for the equalizer, the opponents rarely coming into our half, and against the run of play Ocean Pirates went further ahead when a direct free kick from outside the penalty box dipped into the goal beating our unsighted goalkeeper. In the 19th minute we reduced the deficit with a goal by Innocent Nkosi, but it was too late and the equalizer was not forthcoming, again we failied to find the net.
