La prossima funzione organizzata dal Fogolar Furlan di Città del Capo è in programma per domenica, 27 Luglio 2008, e si terrà al Club Italiano di Donegal Street  a Rugby. Verrà servito un pranzo ed il costo sarà di Rand 80 per adulti e Rand 40 per i bambini sotto i 12 anni di età. Dopo il pranzo ci sarà la tombola con dei ricchi premi quindi portate dei soldi per comperare le cartelle della tombola.

Al pranzo parteciperà come ospite d’onore il dottor Max Mauro dell’Università di Udine.
Egli si trova quì in visita per intervistare dei membri delle famiglie di friulani che sono arrivati quì dal  1900. Durante il pranzo si presenterà e spiegherà il motivo delle sue ricerche e organizzerà appuntamenti per delle interviste.

Lo storico Max Mauro è qui per raccogliere documentazioni storiche da utilizzare nella stesura di un nuovo libro sulla storia dell’emigrazione friulana in Sud Africa. Ecco qui di seguito, in inglese, la circolare che la signora Beppina Loi a nome del Fogolar Furlan ha inviato a tutti i soci:

Mauro will be collecting as much information on all the original Friulan emigrants and/or their children during the beginning of the 1900's till about the 1970's. Please confirm this email to arrange an interview, as we have included your name in the list compiled for Dott. Mauro.  Bring fotos of yourself and family (for scanning into the computer) from childhood, when you came to South Africa, until about 1970. Each interview, he said, should take about 2 hours.  They will be held at the Italian School, Dante Alighieri, in Cape Town, Mondays to Fridays, and for those in the northern suburbs and/or those who find it difficult to go to Cape Town, at the Italian Club on Saturdays or other.  If you have a family member who due to ill-health or old-age  cannot get to the venues,  please arrange a lift for these persons to be interviewed on the same day as your own interview,  either at the Dante Alighieri or the Club.
 
For those far-afield, i.e. Stellenbosch, Paarl and environments, Delio has offered the use of an office at the Stellenbosch Flying Club to accomodate the interviews for them with Dott. Mauro. The date is still to be decided upon.
  
Dott. Mauro will be meeting all the Friulani at the Club on Sunday the 27th, so please do your best to be there to hear more about this project.  He has been to many other countries for the same purpose, and is now looking forward to doing the same for us Friulani in Cape Town. 
 
Again we ask you to co-operate in this matter by accepting to arrange an interview and by being present on the 27th July.  This is history in the making for the South African/Cape Town  Friulani.
