Juventus – Westville United 2-2: substitute shine again

A very competitive game on Tuesday night at Crusaders saw our team draw with Westville United. Westville started positively but poor finishing cost  them the chance of taking the lead. We had a chance to take the lead in the 15th minute when Slaine Rudham headed narrowly over the cross bar and 10 minutes later Chris Napier went close from a direct free kick outside the penalty area. There was no score at half time.

On the resumption of the second half,  Westville exerted pressure on our defence early on, and in the 11th minute, in the space of 3 minutes we had conceded two own goals from set pieces. At that stage the prospects of even drawing this game seemed very bleak, until the 18th minute, when substitute Kyle Woodenberg reduced the deficit with  his first goal of the season.  Ten minutes later Innocent Mpungose notched the equaliser securing a vital point in our relegation struggle.

On the whole, Coach Enzo was really proud of the way his team applied themselves and the fighting spirit made all the difference for our team. "It was a bit frustrating that we couldn't
      secure all three points".

      Giuseppe “Joe” Pieri
