Giulio Giuricich da Gallarate a Johannesburg: adesso è anche lui una Rondine

Si è conclusa, almeno per il momento, l'avventura italiana di Giulio Giuricich, giovane calciatore di Johannesburg partito per l'Italia a 19 anni e ingaggiato prima dal Montichiari e trasferito successivamente alla Gallaratese, all'inseguimento del sogno di approdare nella mitica Serie A. Sogno interrotto prematuramente da un incidente che gli è costato un'operazione al ginocchio e un'intera stagione di inattività.

Ma un'altra avventura, forse più promettente, lo aspettava a Johannesburg, città dove è nato e dove ha fatto con successo un provino con i Moroka Swallows, squadra che attualmente è in terza posizione nella Premier League, a un solo punto dalla seconda.

Adesso Giulio Giuricich è anche lui una Rondine, con un ruolo importante nella prima squadra che ha bisogno di sostituire il titolare Shere Lakgothane nella posizione difensiva che gli è congeniale. L'ingaggio gli è stato offerto dopo due mesi di prova con la squadra e Giulio ha fiducia di poter riuscire a convincere l'allenatore Zeca Marques di avere le potenzialità necessarie per far fare alla squadra un salto di qualità. Giuricich Delighted At Swallows Deal

New Moroka Swallows signing, Giulio Giuricich, has told the Siya crew of his excitement at signing for one of South Africa’s biggest teams.

The 22-year-old recently signed for the Dube Birds after spending around two months training with the club alongside fellow trialist, Lizo Mjempu, who was also snapped up.

Having left South Africa at age 19, the Johannesburg-born defender joined Italian club, AC Montichiari, before going on to play for ASD Gallaratese until an injury struck.

Now the left-back is hoping to put his injury behind him and make his PSL debut. He told the crew, “I’m very excited, especially to join a club like Swallows. It’s a very big opportunity for me and I hope that I can help the team and add value to the team and repay them for the confidence in me that they’ve shown.

Giuricich spent the last year on the sidelines as he recovered from his knee injury, and he now says that he’s full fit and raring to go. He said, “I was out for the whole of last season after having a knee operation and I’ve just come back, it’s now 100%. It’s nice to be back among players, it lifts the mood and gets you back mentally and into the swing of things, it really helps with recovery.�

While the defender is thought to have been brought into Swallows as cover for Shere Lekgothane, he will be hoping to make his mark on Zeca Marques in the near future and try and force his way into his first team plans.
